Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
CONNECTS diagnose, troubleshoot, maintains hardware including computers, monitors, printers, networking devices and audio-visual attachments as required.
INSTALLS, tests, and troubleshoots computer software; file server; makes software available to appropriate users within respective Ministry/Department.
PROVIDES technical support for hardware and software issues, including assist with preparing procedural manuals that serves as guidance to end users.
MAINTAINS a detailed inventory of computers and related peripherals including software and hardware for a Ministry/Department.
KEEPS log and reports to the Database Administrator on network and equipment performance, problems, failures etc., updates user passwords where necessary.
SERVES as liaison to software and hardware providers including external repairs services in support of general maintenance duties.
RECOMMENDS procurement of computers, computer peripherals, computer parts, software, supplies and materials, to ensure service continuity and availability of proper equipment and support maintenance functions.
TRAINS personnel in the operation of new hardware and/or software applications to update the capacity of the end-users; provides helpdesk and assistance service to end-users in a Ministry/Department.
UNDERTAKES courses to keep abreast with new technology, trends, and computer solutions.
MAY provide advice on infrastructural preparation for installation of new electronic equipment and certify compliance with regulatory requirements in an effort to enhance a ministry's/department's operation.
MAY be required to perform the duties of the Database Administrator in his/her absence.

Government Pay scale 12 of $22,557 x 1014 - $41,523 per annum.

Basic Purpose of Position
Responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of computer hardware and software within a Ministry/Department, including general tasks that promote the seamless use of IT infrastructure and work environment.
Conditions of Service
You will be subject to Belize Constitution (Public Service) Regulations (BCPSR), 2014, Financial and Stores Orders, Finance and Audit (Reform) Act and any other instructions issued from time to time.
Qualifications/Experience
a. Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
b. Experience:
Must possess knowledge of Computer Hardware and Software and the technical environment and network topology with good analytical, Communication, interpersonal and research skills. Ability to work under pressure. A minimum of Three 3 years' experience in the field.
