Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
1) RESEARCH, design and writes new software programs; properly analyses user
requirements within the Ministry of Public Utilities, Logistics and E-Governance
2) CODE, test and troubleshoot programs, utilizing the appropriate hardware,
databases and programming technology.
3) MAINTAIN and modify programs, making approved changes by amending flow
charts developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes.
4) CONDUCT testing on newly created programs in an effort to discover and fix
faults that may exist to allow for the efficient and effective delivery of services to
the Public.

5) ANALYZE performance of programs and take appropriate action to correct
deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval for supervisor.
6) DEVELOP existing programs by analyzing and identifying areas for
modifications to allow for better responsiveness to issues that needs solutions.
7) INTEGRATE existing software products in an effort to allow for compatible
platforms to work together.
8) CREATE technical specification for software needs and solutions and test plans
applying software development best practices.
9) MAINTAIN quality and ensures responsiveness of applications by using a wide
variety of computer coding languages and platforms.
10) WRITE operational and development documentation in conjunction with other
technical professionals, documents programming problems and solutions for
future reference.
11) MAINTAIN software systems by monitoring and correcting software and
database defects.
12) RESEARCH new coding and programming languages and new and emerging
software design and development techniques and technologies.
13) INFORM management and staff of changes in software technology to enable
them to deal with new specification and updates.
14) MAINTAIN security and confidentiality with regards to the information being
processed, stored and accessed.
Reporting Responsibility :
The Software Developer III will report directly to the Director, E-Governance and Digitization Unit.

Government of Belize Payscale 16 of $30,171 x 1,310 - $55,061 per annum.
